ok now, that is what this fan-fic is based on! time to get started!
Helga: (writing in diary) high school...you would think it's the best time of your life to get a boyfreind, but boy I can't seem to get anybody! I have finally given up on Arnold...he'll never love me! it's no use. I haven't talken to him in 5 years. yep thats right. five years! eversince I was 10! oh man thats to long! but he doesn't seem to mind cause he has Li-la. I still love Arnold, I just am not mean to him anymore. well I better go, the buses here! cya! (stuffs her diary in her pocket and walks onto the bus)
Helga has changed her look completely. her hair is shoulder length, down and held back with barrets (and she got rid of the bow. she is wearing a blue, long sleeved, tight, bellie shirt. tight pink cotten pants, and pink tie boots.
Helga: (to herself) would he just take a chance on me! (looks up just the bus stops and sees Arnold get on) *sigh* he will never see the real me. even though I don't even act the way I did when I ws 9, he still won't even barly look at me!
Arnold walks by Helga's seat, and notices her talking to herself. he looks at her seat, then back towards Lila's seat, and sees that Rhonda is sitting in it.
Arnold: (to himself) where should I sit? I can't sit next to Lila because Rhonda is talking to her, and I'm not going to sit next to Helga...she'll just yell at me! (looks at Helga who is looking out the window) man...she sure looks pretty. (looks at Helga, then to Lila about five times)
bus driver: would you make up your mind so we can leave kid.
Arnold: oh, sorry! (sits down next to Helga because her seat is the only free one) hi Helga.
Helga: (looks at Arnold in shock) hi! (looks back out the window)
Arnold now wears a red tank top, baggy blue jeans, his hat is now gone and has been for a while, and his hair is now slicked back not sticking up everywhere.
Arnold: *sigh* I haven't seen you in a while.
Helga: (still looking out the window) mmmm hhhmmm.
Arnold: (looking at Helga) why not?
Helga: I don't know Arnold.
Arnold: oh! (looks at Lila) the only reason I sat next to you is because it was the only free seat. just in case you were wondering.
Helga: (looks at Arnold) yeah...I know.
Arnold: oh...(looks back at Helga) looks like we're almost to school. (points out window)
Helga: yeah.
Arnold: (as the bus arives he stands up) come on Lila! (puts his arm around Lila)
Lila is beautiful very beautiful. she has her hair long and up in a ponytail held by one of her old green bows. she also is wearing a green criss-cross spaghetti strap shirt, with a blue mini skirt, and green sandels with purple flowers on them.
Lila: ok Arnold! (they walk off the bus together)
Helga: like I said...he'll never take a chance on me! (she walks off the bus) *sigh* I just wish someone would notice me!
Pheobe: Helga! (runs up and hugs her best freind)
Helga: hi Pheobe! where you this summer?
Pheobe: I was at Las Vegas with my family! it was wonderful! what did you do this summer?
Helga: nothing. absolutally nothing exept stay home listening to Bob complain about how I wasn't like Olga. but it doesn't bother me any more.
Pheobe: I'm sorry to here that Helga!
Helga: yeah, but like I said it wasn't too bad.
Pheobe: Gerald and I are going out now!
Helga: what?! that's wonderful Pheobe!
Pheobe: I know! but the problem is I won't get to see you as often. I'm sorry Helga!
Helga: (looks at the ground then back up at Pheobe thats ok! as long as you're happy. because you're my best freind! I need to think about what makes you happy! not me!
Pheobe: (hugs Helga again) oh thank you Helga!
Helga: mmm hhmm. (looks at the ground about to cry)
Pheobe runs off towards Gerald, Arnold, and Lila.
Helga: (a single tear comes across her face) *sigh* no one will even give me a chance! why won't they!
girl: why won't who do what?
Helga: (turns around and sees a girl that was about the same height as her) why won't anyone give me a chance.
girl: oh! I'll give you a chance...espesially since my best freind dissed me! what is your name? mine is Nakia!
Helga: Helga. my best freind dissed me too.
Nakia: oh! I'm sorry to hear that!
Helga: it was bowned to happen...she loved this boy since she was little...so she and him got together. (looks at the ground and gets a tear in her eye)
Nakia: wow! that's awful! my best freind got invited to the "popular" group and left me!
Nakia is beautiful. she has long black hair with a flower in it. she also has a blue tank top with pink stripes, with a black pleather mini skirt, and black zip up boots.
Helga: just wondering...do you have a boyfreind?
Nakia: no...and I know why you are asking!
Helga: of course you do it's obveioce!
Nakia: (nods her head) you don't want me to diss you to be with him right?
Helga: yeah, exactly!
Nakia: don't worrie! no boys ever seem to come near me. I don't know why though.
the bell rings.
Helga: see ya at lunch!
Nakia: yup!
:::lunch:::
Helga: (walks up to Nakia) hello!
Nakia: I saved us a seat over there! (points to a table in the far corner with a paper on it)
just as they start to walk over they pass a corner and Arnold comes around it right into Helga, making both fall to the ground.
Arnold: (sitting on the floor staring at Helga) uh..sorry Helga! (gets up brushing the food off himself)
Nakia: watch where you're going jerk!
Helga: (looks up at Nakia) it's ok Nakia...I know him...this happens all the time! (stands up)
Nakia: ok then! buh bye Arnold! (waves at him)
Arnold: (cunfused) uh...ok bye! (walks away) Helga was nice? maybe she has changed? nah!
Nakia: so...that happens all the time?
Helga: yeah. every time I turn a corner I run into him.
Nakia: wow! you might want to go wash off before we go sit down. (Helga has food all over her)
Helga: (looks at the mess on her shirt) yeah...I better! (gos into the bathroom and begins to wash off) *sigh* he will never even give me a chance!
Lila: (comes out of one of the stalls) Arnold still won't change his mind about you?
Helga: (turns around) no he won't.
Lila: *giggles* what happend?
Helga: uh...Arnold and I ran into eachother in the lunchroom. and I got all of the food on me.
Lila: I saw you have a ever so nice new best freind. what is her name?
Helga: her name is Nakia. she doesn't have anyone either.
Lila: wait a minute! want to be freinds even though I'm Arnold's girlfreind?
Helga: (long pause) I'll think about it. thanks Lila!
Lila: I'll understand ever so much if you don't want to be my freind bu-
Helga: (cutting Lila off) sure.
Lila: what?
Helga: sure you can be my freind! even though you're my fav. boy's G.F.
Lila: ok! want to come to a sleepover on saturday?
Helga: who else will be there?
Lila: just you, me, and if you want Nakia!
Helga: ok then! I'll meet you then.
:::back in the lunchroom:::
Nakia: what took so long?
Helga: we're invited to a sleepover on saturday!
Nakia: who invited us?
Helga: Lila!
Nakia: oh! who's Lila?
Helga: Arnold's girlfreind.
Nakia: oh ok! lets go...our food is getting cold!
:::at Arnold, Gerald, Lila, and Pheobe's table:::
Arnold: what took you so long Lila?
Lila: I was talking to Helga.
Arnold: about what?
Lila: I invited her and her new freind to my sleepover on saturday!
Pheobe: aren't I invited? wait...she has a new best freind?
Lila: I'm ever so sorry Pheobe...I thought you had plans with Gerald!
Pheobe: oh yeah...I do! but I can't beleave she has a new best freind!
Arnold: why would you invite Helga to a sleepover?
Lila: she has changed Arnold. she is now my freind! if you don't like that-
Arnold: (cutting Lila off) no no no...I'm fine with it! I just didn't know why you would invite HER!
Lila: it's like I told you Arnold...she has changed just ever so much!
Arnold: oh, ok! (thinking) sure she has!
:::after school:::
Lila: (on the bus) Helga! sit here!
Helga: ok! (walks over and sits next to Lila)
Arnold walks on to the bus and starts to walk back to Lila to sit with her, when he sees Helga next to her.
Arnold: uh...hi Helga...what are you doing in my spot?
Helga: Lila invited me to sit here! isn't that right Lila?
Lila: (nods her head) it's ever so true!
Arnold: then where will I sit?
Lila: behind us!
Arnold: (sits down behind them next to Rhonda) so...what do you want to do tonight Lila?
Lila: I was going to hang out with Helga...sorry Arnold!
Arnold: ok! atleast you aren't hanging out with another guy! (he sits back) good thing.
Lila: I would never do that Arnold! who do you think I am?
Helga: (kinda dissapointed) (to herself) that's what I was afraid of.
:::Helga's house:::
Helga: I didn't relise how fun this was Lila!
Lila: yeah...painting your finger nails is pretty fun...but I also am starting to like some boyish things too.
Helga: like what?
Lila: I kinda like to watch sports...a little!
Helga: I like to watch wrestle mainia! want to watch it?
Lila: well...aw...I have to get over not liking violence! sure...why not!
they hear knocks on Helga's room door.
Lila and Helga: come in!
Nakia: (opens the door and walks in) hi! you must be Lila!
Lila: yes...I'm Lila! you must be Nakia!
Nakia: you got that right!
:::saturday at lunch:::
Arnold: man Gerald...I thought Helga and Lila were total enimys! now they spend every minute together! Lila never has time for me!
Gerald: yep!
Arnold: neither do you cause you are always with Pheobe!
Gerald: mmm hhmm!
Arnold: look at them! Lila is totally ignoring me! I really can't believe how nice Helga is acting! (looks at Gerald who is looking over at Pheobe who is talking to some other girls) are you even listening to me?
Gerald: what? (looks at Arnold) did you say something?
Arnold: (puts his head on the table) oh brother!
Gerald: I think you need help!
Arnold: (lifts his head and looks at Helga and Lila) *sigh* I can't beleive she is just ignoring me! (all of a sudden Lila stands up, says something to Helga, and walks over to Arnold's table) hi Lila!
Lila: hi Arnold! I just came over to say that I'm going to sit with you on the bus ok?
Arnold: ok!
Lila: ok then! (leans forwards and kisses Arnold's forehead) bye! (walks toards Helga)
Arnold: ok...well...maybe she isn't ignoring me!
Gerald: *small chuckle* I think you're right! now you have lipstick on your forehead to prove it!
Arnold: what! (runs into the bathroom to check) oh man! (begins to wash it off)
:::meanwhile:::
Helga: hello again Lila! did you have fun telling Arnold that you will sit with him?
Lila: yep!
Helga: good! now, want to talk about the party tonight?
Lila: I would ever so love to!
hey begin to talk about the party when they see Arnold walk out of the bathroom with a soaking wet head.
Arnold: (looks around and sees almost everyone laughing) what?
Gerald: *laughing* uh...if you haven't noticed your head is soaking wet!
Arnold: yeah...but atleast the lipstick is gone!
Gerald: uh...no it isn't!
Arnold: (shoked and imberised) what!? it's still there?!
Gerald nods his head.
Arnold: oh great!
Lila: (not one of the ones that laughed) oops! I didn't mean to leave lipstick on his head!
Helga: (the only other one that wasn't laughing) yeah I know Lila!
Arnold: (trys to wipe off the lipstick) it won't come off!
Gerald: *laughing* everyone knows that lipstick doesn't come off for atleast two days! at least it was from a girlfreind...not someone like a mom or grandma!
Arnold: *sigh* yeah...thats good! come on lets go eat!
Gerald: yeah. *chuckle*
Arnold: it isn't funny Gerald!
Gerald: sure it isn't! *chuckle*
Arnold: Gerald!
Lila: Arnold I'm ever so sorry for leaving lipstick on your forehead!
Arnold: thats ok you didn't mean to!
Helga: of course she didn't mean to.
Arnold: why didn't you laugh Helga?
Helga: I didn't think it was funny!
Arnold: what? YOU didn't think it was funny?
Helga: no! I have changed Arnold! can't you exept that?
Arnold: uh...sure! (walks off)
Helga: he still thinks I'm mean! when is he going to relise I'm not mean anymore!
Nakia: (she was listening in on the whole thing) so...you like him?
Helga: (looks at Nakia) yep! I thought you'd never guess!
Nakia: I thought you might kinda like him! I say expess your feelings to him with a song.
Helga: but what song?
Nakia: I have the best song! I'll bring it to the sleepover for you to practice it!
Helga: ok then!
:::at the sleepover:::
Nakia arives with the cd to the song and the lyrics, and hand them to Helga.
Nakia: here! now lets begin!
Helga starts to sing it but is awful...so she practices it over and over and over, until she is finally good enuff to sing it perfectly!
:::sunday morning:::
Lila: (streches) ok Helga! *yawn* are you ready for today?
Helga: *gulp* I hope so.
:::later that day:::
Lila: (on the phone with Arnold) ok then! meet "me" at the park in 5 minutes...got it? ok then! bye! (hangs up) Helga...get ready!
Helga: I know he won't like it! he'll just laugh at me!
Lila: no he won't Helga! I know Arnold would never ever do that!
Helga: yeah...he wouldn't...I know that too...I've just alway been afraid of the day I might acculy tell him cause I know he won't ever love me!
Lila: you never know until you try Helga!
Helga: I guess you're right.
Lila: go get him...litteraly! he he he!
Helga leaves and heads for the park with Lila and Nakia fallowing a littlw ways behind her. she gets to th park and sees Arnold sitting on a bench, and she looks back at the other girl who give a thumbs up sign to her.
Helga: ok Helga...you can do this! (walks over to Arnold) uh...hi Arnold.
Arnold: hi. have you seen Lila anywhere? I'm waiting for her.
Helga: no...she's not the one you're waiting for, it's me.
Arnold: you? why?
Helga: I need to tell you something...

Lila: knowing him he'll be loving you by the end of the day.
Helga: yeah, your right! he has had over 5 crushes!
Lila: yeah, he has!
Nakia: come on lets get to the ice cream shoppe before my stomach growls so hard there is an earthquake!
:::later at Arnold's house:::
Gerald: she what?!
Arnold: she loves me Gerald.
Gerald: that is ssssssooo weird! I mean, she is mean, and usaully espeilly mean to you! *laugh*
Arnold: she sang a song to me.
Gerald: *stops laughing* what?! she sang a song to you? now that is just TOO weird!
Arnold: want to hear what it said?
Gerald: uh...sure.
Arnold: 'take a chance on me'!
Gerald: what? I wonder what she ment by that?
Arnold: I think I know...no one has ever given her a chance because they think she is still mean, even I thought she was still mean, but Gerald...I'm going to try and see what she is like now, I'm going to try and forget the bully that she used to be and try and see if she HAS changed.
Gerald: Arnold, you're a bold teenager.
Arnold: heh, yeah.
Gerald: well I gotta go, see ya man. (leaves)
Arnold: yeah, see ya. *sigh* (lays down on his bed) Helga, loves me? I still can't beleive that. *smile* heh, now that I think about it, it's kinda obvioce! (long pause because he was thinking about all the little indacations) hhhhhhhhhmmmmmm...(falls asleep)
:::monday in school at lunch:::
Lila: so, he still hasn't said anything to you today?
Helga: (saddly) nope. I might as well give up...he'll never feel the way I do.
Lila: oh, don't give give up yet! he might love you!
Helga: (shakes her head) he has never even liked me, and he will never ever even come close to loveing me!
Nakia: *sigh* well...you can give up and what if he does love you even though you do? huh? what then? you will have given up for nothing! now if you wil exuse me I think I have a headache, I'm going to the nurse. (gets up king of stagering and falls back into her seat) I don't think I can stand up.
Helga: here I'll help you. (stands up and walks over to Nakia and helps her up. after that she walked her to the nurses office)
little did she know that Arnold was watching her amazed.
Arnold: hey Gerald, did you see what Helga just did?
Gerald: mmmmmmmmm, no.
Arnold: she helped Nakia get to the nurse's office.
Gerald: (just taken a bite of his sandwich) vefy nife.
Arnold: what?
Gerald: (swallows) very nice.
Arnold: oh ok. (looks back over to Helga's table where she had just sat back down) *sigh* I still can't believe she loves me.
:::Helga's table:::
Lila: hey, look at that look on Arnold's face!
Helga: (looks at Arnold who is looking dreamily over at Helga) he looks like he is daydreaming. *gasp* what if?
Lila: maybe he is noticeing ever so much of you that has changed!
Helga: *sighs dreamily* yeah, maybe so! hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm. (gos into a daydream)
Lila: Helga, are you allright? (no response) Helga? Helga!
Helga: (snaps out of it abbruptly) oh, sorry! he he he!
Lila: (nods her head and looks at Arnold who is looking at Helga lovingly) I guess you got you wanted.
